Hororata Parish Bike Run Walk

Enjoy a day in the country exploring the private Middle Rock Farm, on the terraces of the Rakaia River. With formed shingle 4WD tracks ranging in distance from 6km to 20km there is something for all ages and levels of fitness.

This is a recreational event where participant's can bike, run or walk.  Tracks open at 10am and all participants must be started by 2pm. There is no briefing, you can start anytime between 10am and 2pm, participants must be off the track by 4pm.

Entry is $20.00 per person, $5 for a child, under 5 years free, family price (2 adults and up to three children) $45.00. 

BBQ and refresments will be for sale. Cash only.

No pre-registration required. Please leave your dogs at home as this is a working farm. Held wet or fine.

This event is held on Middle Rock Farm 1160 Coleridge Rd, Windwhislte. Approximately 35 minutes from Darfield or 20 minutes from Methven. Click here for map (http://www.middlerock.co.nz/our-location/ )

  • The tracks are a mix of single and grass, they are well maintained. 
  • The tracks are a series of loops, starting in the same place. Approximate distances are 6km, 10km,  14km and 20km.
  • The 14km and 20km tracks have some good hill climbs and downhill parts, we recommend confident cyclists only for these tracks. 
  • Children are welcome to bike with an adult as they run. 
  • Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult at a ratio of 3 children to 1 adult. 
  • Once registered you can complete the tracks as many times as you like.
  • All cyclists must wear helmets, please make sure you wear suitable footwear, have appropriate clothing for all weather, sun cream and plenty of water
